1.  📵 AT&T Violated Federal Broadband Discount Programs

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the US government formed the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program and a subsequent Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). As such, AT&T has agreed to pay $2.3 million in a consent decree with the FCC.

CEO Zuckerberg said Meta AI already has almost 500 million monthly active users and is on track to become the most-used AI assistant in the world by the end of this year.

5. 🗃️ Dropbox Is Laying Off 20% Of Staff

In what Dropbox CEO calls a “transitional period,” the cloud storage company is laying off 20% of its workforce – roughly 528 people. In a letter to staff, Houston said the goal behind the layoffs is to make cuts in over-invested areas while designing a “flatter, more efficient” team structure.

6. 🤖 25% Of All New Code At Google Is AI-Generated

Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai revealed on the company’s Q3 earnings call that “more than a quarter of all new code at Google is generated by AI, then reviewed and accepted by engineers.” So, no, AI isn’t going away anytime soon.

7.  🧴 Boeing Overcharged DOD 8000% For Soap Dispensers

Not gonna lie, this is one of the wildest headlines I’ve seen in awhile. The U.S. military is accusing planemaker Boeing of overcharging the government for spare soap dispensers on C-17 cargo planes, following findings from an audit by the Department of Defense.
