Uber announced that the San Francisco Bay Area will be the lucky city to host its specially built autonomous taxi, which is set to launch late next year. While the vehicle is exclusive to Uber, the ride-hailing company has been working with the electric car company Lucid, and the self-driving technology company Nuro Inc. Uber plans on deploying 20,000 or more Lucid-based autonomous taxis to various locations over the next six years. (Fast Company)

7. 🤖 JP Morgan Employees Allowed to Use AI for Performance Evals
Apparently, JP Morgan is leaving performance reviews up to AI. Employees will be able to use the bank’s in-house chatbot to assist with year-end evaluations. The aim is to help employees save hours writing them by hand, and it could come with the added benefit of reducing the perception of playing favorites or other biases. JP Morgan noted that AI cannot be used to make salary decisions, and employees are solely responsible for final submissions. (Morning Brew)
