What you missed today

Good evening!

What’s the last thing you bought? Was it a stake in OpenAI or a failing pants brand?

Here are the 7 things you missed today:

1.  😬 Bank of America Was Down Today

No, it’s not just you. Many Bank of America customers today reported having trouble accessing bank accounts – some couldn’t see their account balances, some had zero balances, and others couldn’t log into their accounts online at all. Bank of America hasn’t made a statement yet, despite reports starting around 12:45pm ET.

2.  💵 Everyone’s Teaching Online

Everyone's teaching online, and it's a $1B-a-day boom. Don’t miss out! Join Marisa Murgatroyd’s FREE 5-Day Challenge to turn your expertise into a profitable course. Started Sep 30th and the first two days were amazing! You're just in time to get in :)

3. 🤑 OpenAI Is Now Valued at $157 Billion

That’s one fancy AI chatbot. ChatGPT maker OpenAI has made history for closing the largest VC round of all time. The startup announced that it raised $6.6 billion in a funding round that values the company at $157 billion. In a round led by Thrive Capital, the new cash brings OpenAI’s total raised to $17.9 billion.

4.  🥷 CEO's Secret Newsletter Weapon

Smart CEOs know the value of a great newsletter, but writing it? That’s a job for someone else. With Orbit Marketing, you get a professional, revenue-driving newsletter sent to your prospects every week—without having to type a single word.

5. 👖 Levi’s Is Looking to Sell Dockers

No one wants to buy khakis anymore, which means no one wants to buy Dockers. Including investors. The brand is owned by Levi Strauss & Co and is bringing the company’s overall business down, despite hot demand for Levi’s jeans. Anyone want to buy a failing pants company?

6.  🏎️ LVMH & Formula One Are In A 10-Year Partnership

A great day for luxury brands: Liberty Media-owned Formula One and luxury giant LVMH announced they’re entering into a 10 year partnership. The decade-long partnership will officially launch at the start of next F1 season and will include, “hospitality, bespoke activations, limited editions and outstanding content.”

7.  🤔 Uber Eats Clause Might Stop Customers From Suing

A couple from New Jersey was in a severe accident during an Uber ride. But the company says they can’t be sued because they and their daughter agreed to arbitration when they accepted the terms of service for a separate Uber Eats order. Wild or fair?

Bonus. CEO Tip Of The Day

Do you think “strategic work” looks like big, consequential decisions? Well, unfortunately, you’d be wrong. Here’s what being strategic actually looks like.
