What you missed today
Good evening!
It’s not just you, Reddit has been buggy today.
Here are the 7 things you missed today:
1. ❄️ Snowflake Is Acquiring Datavolo
TL;DR: Cloud giant Snowflake is acquiring Datavolo, a data pipeline management company, for an undisclosed amount. Founded in 2023, Datavolo raised $21 million in venture capital from investors including Citi Ventures and General Catalyst.
Why you should care: This acquisition only adds to Snowflake’s dominance in the industry and alludes to Snowflake’s future plans by providing access to data processors that extract, clean, transform, and enrich data – possibly for generative AI use cases.
2. ⚠️ Bad Ads Are Costing You This Black Friday
Black Friday is THE money-making moment of the year. It’s your chance to boost profits, clear inventory, and make your business the talk of the town. But none of that can happen without exposure from high-converting ads.

3. 😵 Reddit Went Down This Afternoon
TL;DR: Social media platform Reddit is experiencing an outage this afternoon with thousands of users unable to access its website and app. As of this send, Reddit is still investigating the issue, according to its status page.
Why you should care: First of all, it’s not just you, if you were wondering while refreshing the app. Second, if you use Reddit in any professional capacity, just know that a lot of people weren’t accessing your content today.

5. 💥 Microsoft Held Its Annual Ignite Conference
TL;DR: Microsoft Ignite, the company’s annual conference for developers and IT professionals, took place on Tuesday and included key changes in Copilot, Windows, Microsoft 365, and Azure, including AI-enabled updates, Copilot Plus improvements, and a new mini PC for its cloud service.
Why you should care: If you’re in the software space, you’ll want to make note of these updates as many impact commonly used Windows software and showcase Microsoft’s next steps into AI advancements.
6. 😰 American Airlines Is Planning To Shame Customers
TL;DR: In an effort to prevent travelers from getting on the airplane before their boarding group is called, American Airlines is introducing new technology that plays a beep when a line cutter’s ticket is scanned for them to be identified and turned away.
Why you should care: Well, it’s something bold to address a common customer annoyance. It also shows AA’s commitment to maintaining early boarding as an exclusive perk to high-paying elite frequent fliers.
7. ⛽️ Sheetz Is Slashing Gas Prices By 40 Cents Per Gallon
TL;DR: To compete during the busy Thanksgiving travel period, gas station and convenience store Sheetz is slashing the price of its Unleaded 88 gas by 40 cents per gallon until the end of November.
Why you should care: It’s an interesting strategy to cut gas prices when they’re already down year-over-year and people will most likely buy your product anyway… but we’ll see if it pays off for the chain in the form of additional convenience store purchases.
Bonus. CEO Tip Of The Day
Stop overthinking your strategy. It’s a common problem for startups and small businesses, but instead, you should be leaning into emergent strategy as a cheat code.
