What you missed today
Good evening!
Are you one of the 700,000+ people who have joined Bluesky in the past week?
Here are the 7 things you missed today:
1. 🤓 OpenAI Is Launching An AI Worker
TL;DR: OpenAI is preparing to release an autonomous AI agent that can control computers and perform tasks independently, with plans to debut as a research and developer tool in January.
Why you should care: This could be a pivotal shift toward AI systems actively engaging with computer interfaces and doing real work, rather than just processing text and images.
2. 🤖 How to use AI to grow your following on LinkedIn
LinkedIn has over 930 million users, but only 1% actively create content. That’s a massive opportunity to stand out.
With Taplio’s AI, it takes just 10 minutes a day. This makes it easy to:
Generate posts and carousels (based on your interests and viral content)
Schedule posts with one click
Track your growth with advanced analytics (far more detailed than what LinkedIn provides)
Justin Welsh, who has generated $2.39M in sales from LinkedIn, says:
“Taplio is the most complete solution in the market for anyone looking to grow on LinkedIn.”

3. ☁️ Bluesky Crossed 15M Users
TL;DR: Decentralized short-form social network Bluesky crossed the 15 million user mark today with over 700,000 signups coming in the last week after the US Election.
Why you should care: Many users are leaving X for other platforms, but it’s still a mystery where the bulk of audiences will end up. Threads has been a front-runner for awhile, but with this new influx of users, Bluesky might heat up the competition.
4. 💵 Save significantly more in taxes with this strategy

5. 👜 2% Dip In Luxury Market Expected
TL;DR: A new report from Bain & Company found that only 1/3 of luxury retailers are expected to see positive growth in 2024, with a 2% dip in the market expected overall. Simultaneously, luxury chain Saks Fifth Avenue has suddenly canceled its annual holiday light show at its flagship Manhattan building due to budget restrictions.
Why you should care: While one industry isn’t necessarily indicative of others, it’s key to make note of this shift in consumer activity – also interesting to note: the previous slowdowns in luxury were in 2009 (height of the financial crisis) & in 2020 (Covid-19 pandemic).
6. 😬 AMD Is Laying Off 4% Of Workforce
TL;DR: Chipmaker AMD is laying off 4% of its global workforce, or approximately 1,000 employees, in an effort to realign resources toward competing in a growing AI chip space.
Why you should care: Nvidia currently dominates the AI chip game, but tech companies should expect to see more solution options coming out from other chipmakers that are worth considering.
7. 📦 Amazon Launched Its $20 And Under Temu/Shein Competitor
TL;DR: In an effort to compete with low-cost shopping apps Temu and Shein, Amazon launched its “Amazon Haul” service which offers a wide range of fashion, home, lifestyle, and electronics products all at $20 or less.
Why you should care: In tandem with the news that luxury goods are down, it’s clear that consumers want low low low-priced options, and companies will have to decide how to compete with such desires.
