1. ⚙️ Accenture Acquired Downdetector & Speedtest For $1.2Bn
Downdetector and Speedtest are getting a new owner. Consulting and IT services provider Accenture announced it’s acquiring the Ookla-owned free internet speed platform and free down site platform from Ziff Davis for $1.2 billion. While the acquisition is still subject to regulatory approval, the Ookla platforms’ data will be used to assist cloud service providers and AI hyperscalers. (The Verge)

5. 😬 Nvidia Might Not Be Investing in OpenAI Anymore
Trouble in paradise. Nvidia’s CEO just shared in an interview that the company’s recent $30 billion investment in OpenAI “might be the last time” it invests in the AI startup before it could go public toward the end of the year. He also mentioned that Nvidia’s $10 billion investment in OpenAI’s rival Anthropic will likely be its last. (CNBC)
6. 📲 Google is Dropping Play Store Commissions to 20% on In-App Purchases
After settling a years-long legal battle with Fortnite maker Epic Games over anticompetitive concerns, Google is dropping its Play Store commissions to 20% on in-app purchases with another 5% tacked on if app developers choose to use Google’s billing system. It’s also making it easier for users to install alternative app stores through its new optional Registered App Stores program. (TechCrunch)
7. 🦾 Decagon Completed its First Tender Offer at $4.5Bn Valuation
AI-powered customer support startup Decagon is set to announce the completion of its first tender offer, led by the same investors that backed its $250 million Series D less than two months ago. The employee secondary allows its more than 300 employees to sell a portion of their vested shares at the company’s latest valuation of $4.5 billion. (TechCrunch)
