Good evening!

If you’re in Asia or the Middle East, you might be getting robotaxis later this year.

Here are the 7 things you missed today:

1. ✂️ Scale AI Cut 14% of its Workforce

Just weeks after Meta invested $14.3 billion into Scale AI and hired its founder Alexandr Wang, the artificial intelligence startup is cutting 14% of its full-time staff (about 200 employees), mostly from its GenAI division. The company is also ending work with 500 contractors (out of thousands) worldwide. (CNBC)

2. 💨 From design to live in seconds

Framer is a new no-code website-building tool that allows you to launch any website and marketing campaign in just days without needing a developer.

It looks, feels, and works just like a design tool, but it has the power to output real websites that look, feel, and function like they were built by a developer.

Framer has an advanced CMS, out-of-the-box SEO optimization, built-in analytics, localization, and you can add advanced scroll animations to make your website come alive, all without code.

3. ☁️ OpenAI is Planning to Use Google’s Cloud for ChatGPT

Keep your friends close and competitors closer. OpenAI is expecting to use Google’s cloud infrastructure for its popular ChatGPT artificial intelligence assistant. OpenAI initially relied exclusively on Microsoft for cloud capacity, but things changed last year when Microsoft named OpenAI as a competitor. (CNBC)

4. 📈 Set it & Forget it, Affordable SEO

Most SEO agencies will charge you $5,000 a month, promise the world, and deliver nothing but a confusing report and disappointment. Ranked is the exact opposite.

These guys are almost too good to be true, but they’re actually amazing. We use them ourselves, and the results speak for themselves:

  • Real SEO that works — weekly content, site optimization, and quality backlinks

  • Full transparency — clear deliverables and easy-to-read reports

  • No BS contracts — all plans are month-to-month, starting at just $99/month

I know what you’re thinking: “$99? Is it a scam?” Nope. Just a team that figured out how to make SEO actually affordable and effective.

5. 🚉 Transit Software Startup Via Confidentially Filed for IPO

Transit software startup Via, which provides the on-demand transit software for more than 650 cities in 30 countries, has filed confidentially for an IPO. The IPO potentially values the company between $4-6 billion as Via last raised private funds in 2023 with a $110 million funding round that pushed its valuation up to $3.5 billion. (TechCrunch)

6. 🔋 GM & Redwood Are Teaming Up To Make Energy Storage Batteries

General Motors and Redwood Materials signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to build energy storage out of U.S.-manufactured batteries and “second-life” recycled EV packs from GM’s vehicles. The company’s first project will be building a storage system for an AI development center in California. (The Verge)

7. 🇬🇧 UK Retail Giant Co-op Confirmed Hackers Stole All 6.5M Customer Records

Blimy. U.K. retailer Co-op confirmed that, back in April, the company experienced a major cyberattack that led hackers to steal the personal data of all the company’s 6.5 million customers. The cyberattacks were attributed to Scattered Spider, a collective of mostly young hackers that use deception tactics to trick companies’ IT teams into granting access to the company’s network.
