3. 🇬🇧 Waymo Plans to Launch in London By Q4
No one can drive this car. Waymo’s taking its fully driverless ride-hailing service across the pond and aiming to launch in London by the fourth quarter of 2026. The expansion plans come amidst Uber-backed startup Wayve expected to launch its autonomous driving cars in London this year. (Reuters)

5. 💼 Amazon is Laying Off 16,000 Workers
The latest AI job hits fall on Amazon as the tech giant is laying off 16,000 employees in its latest round of cuts. The reductions are in the company’s cloud unit and are, according to CEO Andy Jassy, “impacted by what’s happening with AI over time.” (Quartz)
6. 🚫 Google Might Give Sites a Way To Opt Out Of AI Search
Website owners might soon have more control over how their content is used for AI. Google is exploring ways to allow site owners to prevent it from using content for Search AI generative features including AI Mode and AI Overviews, based on new requirements from the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority. 7. ✋ Amazon is Shutting Down Palm Payments
No more palm readings. As part of Amazon’s recent announcement to shut down its Go and Fresh stores, its also bringing an end to its Amazon One palm ID service by June 3rd, a palm-reading payment at these stores and over 500 Whole Foods locations. Amazon One will delete all affected biometric data but will continue to function at healthcare facilities “until further notice.” (TechCrunch)
