What you missed today
Good evening!
If you’re a Nvidia shareholder, congrats! If you’re a Reddit user or Google lawyer, sorry you had a rough day.
Here are the 7 things you missed today:
1. 🔥 Nvidia Reported +122% Sales in Q2
It’s a great day to be a Nvidia shareholder. The AI chipmaker has yet again exceeded Wall Street’s expectations with its fiscal Q2, reporting sales of more than $30 billion (+122% YoY) with profits more than doubling to $16.6 billion. Shares of Nvidia are up a whopping 154% this year.
2. 🤑 If You're Making over $100k, You're Overpaying Taxes…
It's a harsh reality: you don’t realize how much you’re overpaying taxes and how it eats into your hard-earned lifestyle, stunting growth and limiting possibilities.
But it doesn't have to be this way. I found Integrated Wealth Systems, which has helped dozens of brands and entrepreneurs grow their businesses and wealth. How? By making money, investing money, keeping money, and doing this with a team of experts!
Don’t let your lack of financial literacy or strategy cause you to overpay in taxes. Join IWS’s strategy and learn how to live corporate life (you don't have to move to Puerto Rico)!
3. 🏛️ Yelp is Suing Google For Antitrust Violations
I guess this counts as a bad review? Yelp has (finally) filed its own antitrust lawsuit against Google less than a month after a federal judge ruled Google as an illegal monopolist. Expect more lawsuits against the search giant with the DOJ’s landmark decision opening up the gates.

5. ⚫️ Reddit Also Had a Major Outage
If you were procrastinating at work today trying to scroll Reddit, you may have been stopped by a major outage. More than 150k users were reporting outages this afternoon. Reddit reported a “degraded status” and has since worked on implementing a fix.
6. 🖌️ Google’s AI Might Try To Make Humans Again
You may recall back in May, Google rolled out image generation to its Gemini AI model. It went so poorly – due to historically inaccurate racial depictions – that Google rolled back the feature. The tech giant has recently made a new version of the Imagen model available in the Gemini Labs test environment, suggesting the feature may be coming back.
7. 🤷 CrowdStrike Will Spend $60M On Outage Compensation
Turns out, an Uber Eats gift card just doesn’t cut it. Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike said it anticipates it will give customers affected by its major July outage about $60 million in credits for the rest of the year as compensation for the trouble.
Bonus. CEO Tip Of The Day
Here’s a hot take: VCs often give pretty bad hiring advice in the early days. If a VC hasn’t been a founder, they often don’t know the right questions to ask. Takes one to know one.
