What you missed today
Good evening!
If you want the most confusing, random news you’ve heard all day, keep scrolling… 🐔
Here are the 7 things you missed today:
1. 🚫 U.S. Judge Barred Noncompete Ban
Double negatives are confusing! The FTC enacted a rule, scheduled to go into effect nationwide on September 4, banning employers from requiring workers to sign non-compete agreements. Today, a federal judge in Texas barred that ban, effectively blocking it. It’s a success for the Chamber of Commerce and a loss for the FTC.
2. 😏 Get your company a website you’ll love, for a price that you’ll like
For a limited time, Axamo is giving ALL CEO REPORT readers a $2,500 gift card redeemable towards any package that Axamo offers.

3. 🎯 Target Pushed Back on Price Gouging
Target CEO Brian Cornell pushed back on claims that Target has raised prices to boost profits after Vice President Kamala Harris said she would implement a federal ban on corporate price gouging, targeting high grocery prices. Many retail executives have since pushed back on the proposal.

In the most confusing news of the day… chicken restaurant chain Chick-Fil-A has apparently been working with major production firms to create original family-friendly reality TV programs for its own streaming platform. The company is reportedly shelling out about $400k per half-hour of unscripted content and has already made a 10-episode order for a gameshow.
6. 🍎 Apple is Dividing Its App Store
Apple is splitting its App Store division of employees in half, due to changes in the European Union. One half of employees will run the App Store, while the other will manage its approach to alternative marketplaces that have started opening up in the EU.
7. 🎃 Starbucks is Bringing Back the PSL
Starbucks is preparing for its earliest release ever of its famed Pumpkin Spice Latte, starting Thursday (two days earlier than 2023). Its return also marks the launch of Starbucks’ autumn menu, which makes up about 10% of Starbucks’ overall sales.
Bonus. CEO Tip Of The Day
