1. 🍫 Mars Agreed To Buy Kellanova in $36Bn Deal
Pringles just got a little sweeter. Candy-bar maker Mars has agreed to buy Kellanova in a deal valuing the maker at almost $29 billion. The deal also has Kellanova shareholders receiving $83.50/share in cash, a 33% premium to the stock’s closing price on August 2.

3. 🚙 Texas Sued General Motors For Illegally Selling Data
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued General Motors yesterday alleging that the carmaker illegally collected and sold drivers’ data to insurance companies without consent. The lawsuit is part of the AG office’s investigation into several manufacturers for similar illegal data-collecting behavior.

5. 📉 LL Flooring Filed for Bankruptcy
LL Flooring, formerly known as Lumber Liquidators, has filed for bankruptcy and will close 94 of its nearly 300 stores across the United States. The retailer has entered Chapter 11, but isn’t liquidating itself just yet. Instead, it’s seeking a sale and in “active negotiations with multiple bidders.”
6. ⏪ DraftKings Reverses Tax Plans
Earlier this month, DraftKings said it would introduce a surcharge on consumers in states where taxes on sports betting are highest. Then, competitor FanDuel said it wouldn’t add a surcharge to offset the tax hikes. So now, DraftKings is rolling back its plans and won’t add the surcharge.
7. 🛫 Wizz Air Launched Unlimited Flights Subscription
Travelers in Europe can now take advantage of budget airline Wizz Air’s ‘all you can fly’ pass for €499 (~$550) per year. The subscription pass allows passengers to book flights to any of the carrier’s international destinations – including Athens, Madrid, Paris, and Reykjavik – up to three days before departure.
