1.  ✍️ Biden Signed TikTok Ban

As expected, President Biden signed a bill today that could lead to a nationwide TikTok ban after the bill passed the Senate yesterday. TikTok is now forced to find a new owner by January 19, 2025, or be banned from the U.S.

A federal judge approved the National Association of Realtors’ $418 million antitrust settlement today. This ruling has the potential to overhaul the U.S. housing market, with sellers no longer required to pay buyers’ agents.

3. 🧑‍⚖️ Chamber of Commerce Sued FTC

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and several other business groups sued the Federal Trade Commission in Texas today over the FTC’s vote to ban noncompete clauses. If the ban remains, it would take effect 120 days after being officially published in the Federal Register.

4.  ☁️ IBM Acquired HashiCorp for $6.4Bn

IBM is moving deeper into its cloud offerings for complex hybrid environments with its latest acquisition of cloud management vendor HashiCorp for $6.4 billion. HashiCorp did $155 million in revenue last quarter, up 15% YoY.

5.  🛩️ DOT Ruling Forces Airline Refunds

The U.S. Department of Transportation announced a final ruling today mandating that airlines must automatically give cash refunds to passengers and inform passengers of their right to a refund for canceled flights.
