Good evening!

What would you rather: have your Zoom go down in the middle of a meeting or take our brief Q2 audience survey?

Here are the 7 things you missed today:

1. 😮 Figma Filed for an IPO

Design software company Figma has confidentially filed for an IPO – a significant step following its failed $20 billion acquisition by Adobe due to regulatory challenges. It’s a bit of a shocking move with many companies pausing IPO plans recently, and many don’t expect it to proceed in the usual 4-6 week timeline. (TechCrunch)

2. 🗞️ Need a newsletter for your business, but short on time?

Newsletters are the new podcasts–they’ve blown up, and everyone is getting in on the action. You don’t want to fall behind your competition, but carving out time to create and launch your own newsletter is tough.

For $100/mo, Potions manages the entire process for you, from design and copywriting to content and growth. They even interview your team to ensure your newsletter is on-brand and authentic to your business.

3. 😵 Zoom Had a Major Outage

If Zoom goes down at 3pm ET, how many of you would call it a day? Well, you may be one of the over 65,000 who had to make such a decision when video meeting software Zoom experienced a major outage. Most issues (46%) were reported with the website, while 37% of users reported issues with the app and 17% reported issues with logging in. (Forbes)

4. 🧠 This Company Uses Psychology to Increase Sales

5. 💰 OpenAI Might Acquire Windsurf for $3Bn

OpenAI is in talks to acquire Windsurf, an AI-assisted coding tool (formerly known as Codeium), for about $3 billion. If finalized, this would be OpenAI’s largest deal yet and help it compete with companies such as Microsoft, Anthropic, and Cursor, another popular AI coding tool. (CNBC)

6. 🔐 Deck Raised $12M to ‘Plaid-ify’ Any Website Using AI

Fintech company Plaid gave developers an easy and secure way to access bank account data with user permission. Startup Deck wants to do the same for user-permissioned data access across the entire internet, and now it’s raised $12 million in a Series A funding round to do it. (TechCrunch)

7. 🧠 OpenAI’s Newest AI Models Can ‘Think’ With Images

OpenAI just launched its newest (and of course, most advanced) models: o3 and o4-mini, which can now reason using images like sketches and whiteboards. These models also integrate seamlessly with ChatGPT tools like web browsing, coding, and image generation, offering a more visual AI experience for users. (CNBC)
