What you missed today

Good evening!

I took one day off, and Tesla released a new program called A.S.S. šŸ«

Anyway, here are the 7 things you missed today:

1.  šŸ§ People Lost $65M To Bitcoin ATM Scammers in H1

A lot of people fell for this one, apparently. A new report from the Federal Trade Commission found the amount of money lost to bitcoin ATM scams increased nearly 10 times from 2020 to 2023 ā€“ from $12M to $114M. Consumers have already lost $65 million in the first half of 2024.

2.  šŸ¤ Need to reach leads where traditional methods fall short?

Efficiency is important for businesses looking to connect with hard-to-reach leads. While the same old methods, like cold emails, often fall short, tools like Drippi.ai can be a game-changer. How?

Drippi.ai simplifies outreach by sending automated, personalized Twitter DMs to your target B2B or B2C leads, providing a direct line of communication at a fraction of the costā€”just 1/3 of what youā€™d spend on cold emails.

A PR firm booked 330 calls and generated $284k in just three months using Drippi.ai.

3. šŸØ 10k+ U.S. Hotel Workers Are On Strike

More than 10,000 hotel workers at over 24 hotels from Boston to Hawaii went on strike early Sunday morning, a busy time during the Labor Day weekend. UNITE HERE, the union representing the striking workers, says workers are demanding better pay and better work conditions.

5. šŸš™ VWs Will Answer Questions With ChatGPT

Your next Volkswagen might be using ChatGPT. The car manufacturer announced itā€™s rolling out its improved in-car AI voice assistant, IDA, with responses from cloud-based models, including ChatGPT, starting September 6. Drivers will need to be subscribed to VWā€™s Plus Speech with AI service to get it, though most of its 2025 models will also get the new AI voice features.

6.  šŸ¤¦ Tesla Released Its A.S.S. Feature

No, really, thatā€™s the name. The ā€˜Actually Smart Summonā€™ feature was released to Teslas on Labor Day on the (bear with us) S3XY line of electric vehicles. The feature relies on Tesla Vision to return the car to the driver or head to a spot of the driverā€™s choosing, all on its own.

7.  šŸŽ“ Vocational School May Be Better Than Bachelors Programs

The job market remains tough, but new data from payroll processor ADP shows that hiring rates have been rising for roles requiring a vocational or associateā€™s degree as opposed to a 4-year bachelorā€™s degree. The earnings potential also isnā€™t as different as you may think, with last yearā€™s median weekly salaries being $1,493 for those with a bachelorā€™s and $1,058 for those with an associateā€™s degree.

Bonus. CEO Tip Of The Day

There are two different ways to run a company: founder mode and manager mode. Founder mode doesnā€™t have any books written about it or business school lessons on it. Hereā€™s what it really is.
