1.  🛫 DOT Approved Alaska/Hawaiian $1.9Bn Merger

What do Alaska and Hawaii have in common? Soon, airlines. The U.S. Transportation Department said it agreed to allow Alaska Airlines to close its $1.9 billion acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines after the carriers agreed to maintain key Hawaiian routes and adopt consumer protections (i.e. transferring member miles).

It’s been so long since the last sales holiday that Amazon had to announce its next one. The two-day “Prime Big Deal Days” will take place October 8-9 and offer discounts and exclusive deals, similar to its annual Prime Day.

Costco pays among the highest wages in retail – a minimum of $19.50/hr. In an effort to be a competitive employer, Sam’s Club is increasing its minimum wage to $16 in November (from $15) and raising wages for its nearly 100k current employees from 3-6%, depending on tenure.

7.  🍱 Logan Paul & MrBeast Are Competing With Lunchables

Can YouTubers overtake Kraft Heinz? We’re about to find out. MrBeast, Logan Paul, and KSI are teaming up on a “new better-for-you lunch option” called Lunchly. Essentially, an all-in-one meal aimed at their young fan base including a bottle of Prime Hydration (founded by Paul and KSI), a Feastables chocolate bar (created by MrBeast), and either pizza, nachos, or turkey & cheese with crackers.
