1.  ⛽️ 1,300 Florida Gas Stations Have Run Out Of Fuel

As residents prepare for Hurricane Milton and many in its path plan to evacuate, the demand for gas has surged. As of 2 pm today, 17.4% of gas stations statewide were without fuel compared to just 3% yesterday. In Fort Myers, on the Gulf Coast, 70% of stations were without gas as of Monday night.

5. 🚕 Lyft Rolled Out New Perks To Gain More Drivers

Lyft is trying to attract and retain more drivers to its ride-hailing platform with new payment measures for longer-than-estimated rides. Drivers’ pay will be adjusted if there’s an unexpected inconvenience, like traffic or a detour. The company has also partnered with Merit America and Stride Health to provide drivers with courses and affordable health insurance.

6.  🚗 Luxury Car Sales Are Tanking

It’s not a great time to be in the luxury car business. According to CarGurus, over the past nine months, sales of vehicles priced at over $100,000 have fallen by almost 46% compared to a year earlier. Meanwhile, sales of cars in the $20,000-30,000 range have grown by almost 44%.

7.  🦺 Home Depot’s Corporate Employees Have To Work In Stores

You might see Home Depot’s marketing team in store real soon. The company announced plans to mandate that all corporate employees, including senior management and those working remotely, are expected to take on a full eight-hour retail shift at one of its stores every three months, starting at the beginning of Q4.
