Financial institution HSBC is merging operations of its commercial and investment banking businesses as well as splitting its geographic footprint into East and West as part of its new CEO Georges Elhedery’s plan. Under the revamp, HSBC will also appoint its first female Chief Financial Officer, Pam Kaur – formerly HSBC’s Chief Risk and Compliance Officer.

I’m sure this won’t go wrong at all. AI software company Anthropic announced its newest tool which allows its Claude AI to take control of the user’s mouse cursor and perform basic tasks on their computer.

5. 🍴 Denny’s Is Closing 150 Restaurants

Chain diner restaurant Denny’s found it needs to close about a tenth of its stores before it can fully harness a comprehensive comeback plan. That’s led executives to identify about 150 stores whose weak financial performance is crushing the whole system. All of them will be closed by the end of 2025.

6. 📦 Amazon Is Ending Its Brick-And-Mortar Delivery Service

Amazon is shutting down a service that offers same-day delivery from mall and brick-and-mortar retailers, just two years after launching it. The bulk of the service, Amazon Today, will be shut down by December 2nd while select partners will be able to continue filling orders through January 24.

7.  🚲 Peloton Is Partnering With Costco

You’ll soon be able to buy your Peloton Bike at Costco. In an effort to reach younger and affluent customers, at-home fitness company Peloton is partnering with big-box retailer Costco to sell its Bike+ in stores and online between Nov 1 and Feb 15 – just in time for the holidays. The Bike+ will be sold for $1999 in 300 of Costco’s U.S. stores and online for $2199, compared to its typical price of $2495.
