1. 🍟 DoorDash Acquired UK’s Deliveroo for $3.86Bn
That’s one big delivery. Food delivery service DoorDash just acquired UK-based food delivery service Deliveroo for approximately $3.86 billion (£2.9 billion). The deal is expected to close in Q4 and offers Deliveroo shareholders 180 pence per share – a 44% premium over its April 4 closing price. (TechCrunch)

6. 📺 Comcast’s Cable Spinoff is Now ‘Versant’
Meet Versant (pronounced like “conversant”): Comcast’s spinoff of the majority of its NBCUniversal cable network portfolio. Versant will own cable networks including USA, CNBC, MSNBC, E!, SYFY, and Golf Channel. Comcast retains the rest of NBCUniversal’s portfolio including the broadcast network, Peacock streaming, Universal Studios, and theme parks. (CNBC)
7. 🥂 Instacart Launches a New App for Parties
Instacart does parties now. The delivery service app just launched a new 21+ drinks and snack delivery app called Fizz, built to make to easier to stock up for a party. The host of a party can invite guests to their Fizz cart to allow everyone to choose what they want and pay for what they add to a cart. (TechCrunch)
