Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund is nearing the close of its fourth growth fund, Founders Fund Growth IV, with $6 billion in capital commitments. The fresh fundraise comes less than a year after Founders Fund closed its $4.6 billion third growth fund. As with most of the firm’s fundraises, demand from outside investors exceeds the fund’s capacity. (TechCrunch)

5. ⛔️ Amazon Won a Court Order to Block Perplexity’s AI Shopping Agent
Amazon doesn’t want these sales. A federal judge temporarily blocked startup Perplexity from accessing Amazon’s site with its Comet artificial intelligence browser. Amazon sued the AI startup in November, alleging the startup took steps to “conceal” its AI agents so they could continue to scrape the online retailer’s website without its approval. (CNBC)
6. 💪 Thinking Machines Lab Signed a Massive Deal With Nvidia
OpenAI co-founder Mira Murati’s two-year-old AI research lab has signed a sizable multi-year strategic partnership with AI semiconductor giant Nvidia. The size of the deal was not disclosed and includes the AI research lab deploying at least one gigawatt of Nvidia’s Vera Rubin systems starting in 2027. (TechCrunch)

AI is raising the bar (of all kinds). Despite growing competition with its rival Harvey and generalist LLMs, Legora, an AI platform for lawyers, is now valued at $5.55 billion following a $550 million Series D set to fuel its growth in the U.S. Legora’s platform is now used by 800 law firms and legal teams.
