I know what’s at the top of my wish list this year. According to its Chief Global Affairs Officer at the World Economic Forum in Davos, OpenAI is “on track” to unveil a physical device this year. There aren’t many other details on what the device is or what it will do, but expect it in H2 of 2026. (Quartz)

5. 💰 Humans& Raised a $480M Seed Round
The future of AI is looking more hybrid. Humans&, a ‘human-centric’ AI startup founded by alums from Anthropic, xAI, and Google, has raised $480 million in seed funding at a $4.48 billion valuation. Investors in the round include chipmaker Nvidia, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and VC firms SV Angel, GV, and Laurene Powell Jobs’ firm Emerson Collective. (TechCrunch)
6. ⬆️ Amazon CEO Andy Jassy Said Tariffs Are Starting to Drive Up Prices
It was only a matter of time. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said consumers are beginning to see higher prices as many of its third-party sellers look to absorb added costs from newer tariffs as most of their pre-stocked inventory runs out. Jassy said that while Amazon is trying to keep prices low, hikes may be unavoidable in some instances. (TechCrunch)
7. 🤷 Gen Z Doesn’t Want To Move Into Management Roles
A new survey from consulting firm Robert Half found that 40% of Gen Zers only want promotions if they don’t involve becoming a manager. According to the report, “This shift is prompting companies to rethink their approach to career development, making room for dual career ladders that support both managers and individual contributors.” (Quartz)
