3. 🔋 Microsoft Won’t Let its AI Data Centers Hike Electricity Bills
Suburban areas have a unique problem. Many of them are home to data centers for tech companies like Microsoft which run up a major electricity bill to power its warehouses. But Microsoft says it’s planning to pay higher electricity bills in those areas in an effort to prevent prices for local residents from rising in those areas. (CNN)

6. 💼 Meta Plans to Pay Off Hundreds of Metaverse Employees
Budget cuts are coming for the metaverse. Meta’s Reality Labs team is expected to lose around 10% of its staff, with layoffs concentrated on the division’s metaverse employees – a side effect of Meta’s AI ambitions pulling focus away from its VR division. (The Verge)
7. ✨ Amazon Started Automatically Upgrading Prime Members to Alexa+
Well, that’s one way to convert customers to your new product. Amazon is reportedly automatically upgrading many users to its new AI-enabled Alexa+ voice assistant as a perk for Prime memberships. If you’re one of the lucky few, there is an option to roll it back. (The Verge)
