Last summer, Stripe hosted a chat with Bridge co-founder Zach Abrams. That conversation led to Stripe’s now largest acquisition to date. Bridge, which specializes in stablecoin infrastructure, gives Stripe a firm foothold in crypto and could become a defining moment for the industry. (CNBC)

Australia has banned DeepSeek, the artificial intelligence model led by a China-based startup, from all government devices over security concerns. The move follows similar action from Italy and comes at a time when many countries are being critical of the AI firm. (CNN)

5. 🏬 Walmart Bought a Mall in Pennsylvania
Walmart is now a mall owner. The retailer is now the proud owner of Monroeville Mall, roughly 12 miles east of Pittsburgh. CBL Properties sold the mall to the retailer in a $34 million all-cash deal in late January, though Walmart’s plans for the site are still unclear. (CNBC)
6. 🎊 Apple Launched a New Invites App
The app, which looks oddly similar to startup app Partiful, allows users to create and share custom invitations for any event or occasion. Apple has also baked in Apple Intelligence features into the app, including Writing Tools. Currently only those with iCloud+ can create an invite in the app. (Engadget)
7. 🍳 Waffle House is Adding a 50 Cent Surcharge to Cover Egg Costs
The biggest bird flu outbreak in a decade has caused nationwide egg shortages and led to a dramatic increase in product costs. In response, 24/7 diner chain Waffle House is putting a 50 cent per egg surcharge in place to cover the added cost, though it does hope the price fluctuation will be short-lived. (CNBC)
