1. 📣 OpenAI Launched Two New Models & Joined AWS

Big day for OpenAI. The ChatGPT-maker announced two open-weight reasoning models with capabilities on part with its o-series. And now, for the first time ever, its new models will soon be available as a service on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Clients will be able to use OpenAI models to power Amazon AI services like Bedrock and SageMaker AI. (TechCrunch)

3. 🩺 Linda Yaccarino Got a New CEO Seat

When one CEO door closes, another one opens… at least for Linda Yaccarino, it seems. The tech leader is the new CEO at eMed Population Health, an AI startup building a tech platform for patients using GLP-1s. (TechCrunch)

4. 👀 New Funnel Helps SaaS & Service Brands Turn Cold Lists Into Revenue

If you haven't heard by now: I've been working with a handful of software & service businesses on a new lead funnel involving hyper-targeted ads & nurturing email sequences. The results are starting to speak for themself:

"We are booking 5 to 10 qualified calls a week" -Agency owner

"This turned our sleep list full of thousands of potential buyers into a revenue machine for our SaaS business." -SaaS CMO

...if you want a ton more leads in August & have some budget, I'm looking for a few more SaaS or Service businesses who want more leads via my inventive newsletter funnel.

5. 📞 Cisco Was Hit By a Data Breach in July

A hacker tricked a Cisco representative into granting them access to steal the personal information of its website users through a voice phishing or “vishing” call. While the extent of the breach is still unknown, hackers did steal customers’ “name, organization, address, Cisco user ID, email address, phone number, and related metadata.” (TechCrunch)

6. 📚 Spotify Expands Premium Audiobooks Feature

After trialing the service in Ireland and Canada last month, Spotify has officially launched its Audiobooks+ service in the U.S., Europe, Australia, and other locations. Available as an add on to Spotify Premium plans, the feature adds an extra 15 hours of listening on top of the 15 hours available for Premium subscribers for an extra $12 per month. (Engadget)

7. 🐣 AI is Hitting Younger Employees the Hardest

You can already see the impact of AI in U.S. employment data, but the ones hit hardest? Younger employees aiming for entry-level jobs which are the easiest to automate. Unemployment rates among tech workers between 20-30 years old jumped by 3% since the start of the year, according to new labor market data. (CNBC)
