5. 🏢 Wells Fargo is Selling Commercial Mortgage Biz
Wells Fargo announced today its plans to sell the majority of its commercial mortgage servicing business to global loan services provider Trimont. The deal is expected to close in early 2025 and would make Trimont the largest loan servicer in the U.S., managing over $715 billion in commercial real estate loans.
6. 🏛️ Anthropic Hit With Class-Action Lawsuit
Amazon-backed AI startup Anthropic has been hit with a class-action lawsuit in California federal court over alleged copyright infringement. The author’s filing said that Anthropic has built its business “by stealing hundreds of thousands of copyrighted books.”
7. 🤔 Shein Sued Temu Over Copyright Infringement
It’s the battle of the fast-fashion icons. Shein is suing its rival Temu, saying that the retailer stole its designs and “built an empire using counterfeiting, intellectual property infringement, and fraud.” Ironically, the suit comes as Shein fends itself off similar allegations from many brands and artists.
