Good evening!
There’s a chance to win a $100 gift card in this newsletter.
Here are the 7 things you missed today:
1. 🗣️ Amazon Debuted its OpenAI Voice Mode Competitor
Meet the new Nova Sonic voice model – Amazon’s AI conversational voice model that handles real-time speech processing and AI voice generation for conversational applications. To compete with leaders like OpenAI’s Advanced Voice Mode and Gemini Live, Nova Sonic uses a “unified model architecture” that Amazon claims is better than other approaches. (The Verge)
2. ✉️ Email & SMS Marketing So Good, it’s Boring
Let’s be real. Email marketing is not the “sexiest” member of the marketing family. And that’s okay. As a business owner, you have enough “exciting” stuff happening. Let Omnisend be the reliable, stable and effective platform you don’t need to worry about.
No guessing whether that marketing campaign will pay off. Brands using Omnisend on average make $68 for every $1 spent.
No need to learn anything new here. A platform so boringly intuitive, it’s like you designed it yourself.
No venturing into the great unknown. Our support team is available 24/7 to make sure you don’t have any unwanted adventures.
Same same, but for less. Get everything you expect from other platforms, except for those rollercoaster prices that make your heart race.
3. 💰 LA-Based Fintech Startup Rain Raised a $75M Series B
Rain, a startup offering an employer-integrated earned wage access (EWA) app with financial wellness features like overdraft alerts and spending trends, raised $75 million in an all-equity Series B round. The round, led by Prosus, puts the startup at a post-money valuation of $340 million – a good sign for the fintech industry. (TechCrunch)
4. 🙏 We Want Your Input!
It’s time for our Q2 audience survey and we’d love your input on how this newsletter is doing.
So much so, that we’re offering up a $100 gift card (to the place of their choosing!) to one reader who fills out our survey. It’s just 15 quick questions that shouldn’t take more than 5 mins to complete.
Want to give us your thoughts and get a chance at that gift card? Submit your survey response here!
5. 🚕 Amazon’s Robotaxi Zoox is Starting Tests in LA
Zoox, Amazon’s autonomous vehicle unit, is deploying a small fleet of its test vehicles in LA starting today. While a modest step, the move is Zoox’s sixth city and lays the groundwork for a future robotaxi service with public rides in Las Vegas and San Francisco planned for later this year. (TechCrunch)
6. 💼 Fake Job Seekers are Flooding U.S. Remote Positions
Not sure this is the type of AI companies are looking to replace employees with. There’s been a major influx of job seekers applying to U.S. remote positions who aren’t who they say they are – using AI tools to fabricate photo IDs, generate employment histories, and provide answers during interviews. And according to Gartner, by 2028 globally 1 in 4 job candidates will be fake. (CNBC)
7. 🍦 Cinnabon’s New Store is Made for Gen Z
In an effort to attract Gen Z and Millennials who “have a desire for unique indulgent experiences,” Cinnabon is opening a first-of-its-kind location with its sister brand Carvel that mashes up Cinnabon’s hot cinnamon rolls with Carvel’s ice creams. I mean, who doesn’t like a little treat? (CNN)
