1. 🤝 Anthropic is Investing $200M for PE Customers
Anthropic is nearing a deal to invest $200 million in a private-equity partnership that would market its AI tools to the PE firms’ portfolio companies. The venture would include General Atlantic, Blackstone, and Hellman & Friedman, among others, with a total goal of raising $1 billion. (Tech Funding News)

Google is launching a bevy of new features to make it easier for users to contribute local knowledge to Maps. Among the features, Gemini can now create captions when users want to share a photo or video about a specific location. When you select a photo you want to share, Gemini will analyze the image and create a caption, which you can choose to edit or remove. Kind of cool, or totally weird? (Tech Crunch)

5. 💪 Gemini is Getting Stronger Mental Health Parameters
Google announced plans to add mental health support features to its Gemini Chatbot. If a user is deemed to be in distress, they’ll be directed to a support hotline. Those who just wish to discuss mental health issues and topics will be able to access a “help is available” module. This update is a result of an onslaught of lawsuits alleging that chatbots like Gemini are harming users with faulty advice. Google also vowed to donate $30 million to crisis support services. 6. 🙏 Chrome is Answering Our Vertical Tab Prayers
We finally wore them down. Google announced that Chrome users will finally have the option to enable vertical tabs, which will move the tabs to the side of the browser window. This makes it much easier to read full-page titles and manage tab groups. Google is also adding support for vertical tabs, and a Reading Mode facelift (a feature that offers a distraction-free reading experience). (Tech Crunch)

7. 📦 Amazon and USPS Agreed on a Tentative Package Deal
After a tense contract standoff, Amazon struck a deal with the U.S. Postal Service on package deliveries. Rather than cutting USPS-handled deliveries by two-thirds, Amazon will keep ~80% of its existing deliveries with USPS (this amounts to over one billion packages annually). This is good news for the Postal Service, as it’s been operating at a loss for almost 20 years. (Reuters)
