Backed by a $2.5 billion investment from Microsoft and staffed by 6,000 industry and engineering experts, the new Microsoft Frontier Company will focus on delivering successful enterprise AI deployments with Microsoft’s existing AI tools. While the tech giant claims the endeavor goes beyond Forward-Deployed Engineering (FDE), it comes at a time when many other major players have announced their own FDE-based AI ventures. (TechCrunch)

Early-stage firm Magnify Ventures raised $46.6 million for its second fund from LPs, including Melinda French Gates’ Pivotal Ventures. Founded in 2021, Magnify invests in companies that target the care economy, such as those building assistive robotics, family cybersecurity, and AI for home use. Its Fund II will invest in companies tha build AI tools for such families and households. (TechCrunch)
