The world’s largest cloud provider just launched a new version of its Amazon Web Services cloud service located entirely in Europe to address user concerns about the data security delivered by mainly U.S.-based providers. The AWS European Sovereign Cloud's data centers are physically and legally separate from the U.S.-based company's other servers. (Reuters)

As part of the celebration, the Foundation just announced a series of new partnerships with AI tech companies that are customers of its commercial product, Wikimedia Enterprise. Sora better watch out. AI video generation startup Higgsfield has now hit a $1.3 billion valuation. The bump comes after an extension to its previous $50 million Series A round that closed in September, selling another $80 million worth of stock, bringing its total Series A to $130 million. 6. 🇹🇼 Taiwan is Investing $250Bn in U.S. Semiconductor Manufacturing
Made in the U.S.A. sure is gaining popularity. Under a new deal announced by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Taiwanese semiconductor and tech companies have agreed to make direct investments of $250 billion into the U.S. semiconductor industry spanning semiconductors, energy and AI “production and innovation.” (TechCrunch)
7. 💰 Customer Service AI Startup Parloa Tripled its Valuation in 8 Months to $3Bn
Time flies when you’re raising funds. Berlin-based customer service AI startup Parloa has raised $350 million in Series D funding from existing investors, valuing the six-year old company at $3 billion. The new round, led by General Catalyst, comes just eight months after the company raised $120 million at a $1 billion valuation. (TechCrunch)
