One of America’s last standing conglomerates is finally breaking up. Honeywell is splitting into three independently listed companies, separating its aerospace and automation businesses alongside its previously announced advanced materials unit spin-off. The move is in response to pressure from activist investor Elliot Management, which took a $5 billion stake in the industrial giant in November. (CNBC)

5. 🤑 Amazon Surpassed Walmart in Revenue
For the first time since Amazon’s inception in the 1990s, the online retailer has surpassed Walmart in annual revenue. Amazon has long led Walmart in market capitalization, but now is expected to report revenue of $187 billion compared to Walmart’s projected sales of $180 billion. (Quartz)
6. 😕 Allstate Expects a $1.1Bn Loss From California Fires
Allstate Insurance says it will pay out $1.1 billion in claims caused by the Southern California wildfires in January. That said, Allstate was able to limit its losses partly by pulling back from the California market and canceling homeowners’ policies in many areas of the state due to the growing threat of wildfires. 7. ☕️ Starbucks is Limiting Mobile Orders
In yet another move under new CEO Brian Niccol’s push towards crafting a better customer experience, Starbucks has implemented a limit of 12 items per order for those using the Starbucks app. The change aims to reduce wait times and ease pressure on baristas. (Quartz)
