3. 🚩 U.K. Flagged Amazon’s $4Bn Anthropic Investment

The U.K.’s Competition and Markets Authority said today that it’s begun a “Phase 1” investigation into Amazon’s $4 billion investment and partnership with Anthropic to see if the deal has essentially created a merger to harm competition. It’ll take up to 40 days to decide whether it should be moved into a more in-depth “Phase 2” investigation.

The Global Alliance for Responsible Media, an initiative from The World Federation of Advertisers who you may know for being the target of an antitrust lawsuit earlier this week from Elon Musk, is discontinuing activities.

7.  🔥 Samsung is Recalling 1M Stove Knobs

In June, a Colorado dog set off a house fire by pawing at knobs on a Samsung stove with boxes on top of it. Now, after many other videos showed pets accidentally igniting fires, Samsung is offering free knob locks or covers for 1.1 million slide-in electric ranges with front-mounted knobs sold between 2013 and 2014.
