1. 🖥️ FCC Voted to Restore Net Neutrality
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission voted 3-2 to restore net neutrality rules today, reversing a Trump administration repeal. The FCC reclassified internet service providers as common carriers to accomplish the ruling.

2. 🔥 Google Bought Back Billions of Stock
Alphabet’s stock bounced back after a $70 billion share buyback, with Google jumping as much as 13% in after-hours trading. As part of the deal, Alphabet also will pay $0.20 per share on June 17 to shareholders of record.
3. 🛑 TikTok Suspended EU Rewards
TikTok suspended its TikTok Lite app due to growing controversy. The EU-based app is a less data-intensive version of its main platform, including a feature rewarding users with cash for engaging with content.

4. 🩺 Kaiser Misused Millions of Patient Data
U.S. health conglomerate Kaiser notified millions of current and former patients after finding that it shared patients’ information with third-party advertisers, including Google, Microsoft, and X. The data was shared through third-party tracking codes on Kaiser’s websites.
5. 🛻 Ford Reported Loss on Every EV Sale
Automaker Ford’s electric vehicle unit reported losses of $132,000 for each of the 10,000 vehicles it sold in Q1 of FY24, amounting to $1.3 billion in losses total. The EV unit was down 20% in sales YoY, and revenue plunged 84%.
