5. ⛽️ Occidental Bought Carbon Removal Startup Holocene

Oil and gas giant Holocene has purchased its second direct air capture startup, Holocene, for an undisclosed amount. The deal was executed through Oxy Low Carbon Ventures, a subsidiary of the fossil fuel company. Holocene is known for its $10 million deal with Google to deliver 100,000 metric tons of carbon removal by the early 2030s. (TechCrunch)

6. 🛍️ Temu and Shein Plan to Raise Prices

Say goodbye to cheap fast fashion (maybe). According to the Associated Press, online retailers Temu and Shein plan to raise prices for U.S. consumers starting April 25 due to the 145% tariff on goods made in China. (TechCrunch)

7. 🏃 Strava Acquired Runna App

Runna, which debuted in 2021, has quickly gained popularity for its 5K, 10K, or marathon training plans, snatching up an additional $6.3 million in funding for its AI-powered run coaching. And now, the viral app is going to be part of Strava, arguably the most well-known fitness social media app on the market. Plans for the apps are unclear but Strava CEO has said, “This isn’t an efficiency play.” (The Verge)
