1. 🤝 Amazon is Partnering With OpenAI in $38 Billion AI Infrastructure Deal
Two of the biggest names in tech have made a multibillion-dollar artificial intelligence deal. OpenAI agreed to buy $38 billion worth of capacity from Amazon Web Services. The first phase of the deal will happen immediately, with OpenAI using existing AWS data centers. Down the line, Amazon will expand that infrastructure for the AI firm. It’s also one of OpenAI’s biggest moves away from Microsoft, which, until recently, was the company’s exclusive cloud provider. (CNBC)

3. 🤑 Rivian awards CEO new pay package worth up to $5B
After Elon Musk, its time for R.J. Scaringe’s payday. Post a strong year for production and share recovery, Rivian’s board approved a new long-term pay package for CEO R.J. Scaringe valued at up to $5 billion. The plan ties compensation to stock price milestones over several years like Tesla’s model for Elon Musk. Rivian said the move aligns leadership incentives with long-term investor returns. The company’s stock rose modestly following the announcement. (Yahoo Finance)
4. 📚 Amazon unveils AI-powered “Kindle Translate” for e-book authors
Calling Booktok for this update! At launch, the beta supports English-Spanish and German-English translations and is free for select Kindle Direct Publishing authors. Amazon says fewer than 5% of titles on Amazon.com exist in multiple languages, framing a large opportunity. Authors manage translations, pricing, and publication in the KDP portal, and readers will see “Kindle Translate” labels. Amazon adds that AI outputs are “automatically evaluated,” and authors can preview results before publishing. (TechCrunch)

6. 💰 Sam Altman says OpenAI has $20B ARR and $1.4T in data-center commitments
Speaking at an internal event, Sam Altman told employees that OpenAI’s annual recurring revenue now tops $20 billion and that the company has made $1.4 trillion in long-term data center commitments through cloud and hardware deals. The comments mark the first time OpenAI has publicly referenced its revenue scale and infrastructure roadmap. Most commitments are tied to Microsoft Azure and new GPU supply contracts. Altman called the expansion essential to “sustain global demand” as usage of ChatGPT and enterprise APIs accelerates. (TechCrunch)
