Posting links to X through custom social media software via the X API used to cost $0.01. Now, the platform is significantly increasing the third-party hook up to $0.20/link. The price hike is already impacting accounts that post frequent links with posts redirecting users to websites to view more. (The Verge)
4. ☁️ Google Cloud is Launching Two New AI Chips
Google Cloud is coming for Nvidia. The company announced that its eighth generation of custom-built AI chips, or tensor processing units (TPUs), will be split in two – the TPU 8t, geared for model training, and TPU 8i, aimed at interference. The TPUs offer up to 3x faster AI model training, 80% better performance per dollar, and the ability to get 1 million+ TPUs to work together in a single cluster. (TechCrunch)
