What you missed today
Good evening!
If today’s news is any indication, a lot of you will be getting new smartphones soon.
Here are the 7 things you missed today:
1. 📱 Apple Announced iPhone 16, iOS 18, Airpods 4 and Apple Watch 10
You probably already knew this news was coming, but in case you missed it: Apple held its “Glowtime” announcement event today. The main highlight of the broadcast was its iPhone 16 lineup and iOS 18 – all featuring Apple Intelligence (Apple’s AI toolkit) front and center.
2. 🥶 Are Cold Emails Still Effective for Your Business?
In a world where inboxes are flooded with emails, standing out has become a challenge.
I found Drippi.ai to be amazing for outreach strategy! It lets you book calls through automated, personalized Twitter DMs!
You’ll reach leads that are often unreachable via email, and since it’s relatively new, you can engage them in a less crowded channel.
The facts don't lie! A PR firm booked 330 calls and collected $284k in under three months!
✅ Create unique messages for each lead effortlessly.
✅ Save money with a 1/3 pricing of traditional cold email systems.
3. 🛒 Big Lots Filed For Bankruptcy
We also knew this news was coming: major U.S. budget retailer Big Lots has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. As part of the filing, the retailer announced that private equity firm Nexus Capital Management is acquiring most of its stores and business operations.
4. 🤯 How To Get 5 New Clients EVERY Month, If Not More
Did you hear? Our Founder @MarketingMax is teaming up with Phil Rivers for a special free webinar teaching agencies, consultants, coaches, and software businesses how they can get 5 new clients EVERY month, if not more... for less than 2 hours of work a week!
Why are they qualified to teach this? Well, after scaling each of their agencies to over 7 figures in annual revenue respectively, then selling their agencies for a combined $12,400,000... they are on a mission to help service businesses get off the hampster wheel of referrals!
5. 🛻 Stellanis Recalled 1.2M RAM 1500 Trucks
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has recalled over 1.2 million of its RAM 1500 pickup trucks – those manufactured in 2019 and 2021-2024. The recall is due to a software defect with the vehicle’s electronic stability control (ESC) system that could cause a vehicle crash.
6. 🇨🇳 Huawei’s Trifold Phone Hit 2.7M Pre-Orders
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei began pre-orders for its tri-fold Mate XT smartphone over two days ahead of Apple’s iPhone 16 launch, and it’s already received more than 2.7 million pre-orders.
7. 🏈 DirecTV Is Paying Customers To Subscribe To Rival
Tensions are really heating up between DirecTV and Disney over its expired distribution agreement, which threatens to black out tonight’s Monday Night Football. DirecTV is collaborating with competitors Sling and Fubo to offer its customers credits and discounts to sign up and watch the game on ABC and ESPN, as they’re blacked out on DirecTV.
Bonus. CEO Tip Of The Day
Picture this: you plan your week around the same reports, the same check-in meetings, and the same OKRs. If that sounds like you, you might be leaning into zombie practices and processes. Don’t become a zombie.
