What you missed today

Good evening!

What work arrangement do you prefer: office, remote, or hybrid mix? If you chose “office,” then you’d fit in great at Amazon.

Here are the 7 things you missed today:

1.  📱 iOS 18 Has Launched Without AI

iOS 18 officially hit iPhones worldwide today without a key feature: its much-hyped Apple Intelligence (AI). The AI-enabled features may not be making an appearance until 2025, but there are still many customization options to bide the time.

2.  🚄 The Silver Bullet To Getting More Clients

Did you hear? Our Founder @MarketingMax is teaming up with Phil Rivers for a special free webinar TOMORROW covering:

  • The exact thing you need to get 5 new clients EVERY month, if not more... for less than 2 hours of work a week!

  • A sneak peek inside the September Work Series

  • 15 to 20 minutes of live Q&A to answer any questions you have about client acquisition strategies in general

Why are we qualified to teach this? Well, after scaling each of our agencies to over 7 figures in annual revenue respectively, then selling those agencies for a combined $12,400,000... we are on a mission to help service businesses get off the hampster wheel of referrals!

3. 🏢 Amazon Is Mandating a 5-Day Return to Office

Alexa, cancel work from home. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy sent a memo to the staff today calling for a full 5-day return to office at the start of 2025. Amazon has expected employees to work in the office three days per week for the last 15 months, but Jassy claims, “we continue to believe that the advantages of being together in the office are significant.”

5. 🔩 Home Depot is Paying $2M Settlement

A recent complaint filed in San Diego Superior Court said that when customers brought an item to checkout at Home Depot, they would be charged more money than was written on the shelf tag or item itself. California district attorneys ruled it was a case of “scanner violations,” leading the home improvement retailer to pay nearly $2 million to settle the case.

6.  🥶 Boeing Is Instituting a Hiring Freeze

Boeing employees arrived to work today to a memo from the company’s CFO Brian West saying that the company is instituting a hiring freeze, pausing executive pay raises, reducing corporate travel, and suspending “catered meal and food services at Boeing facilities unless a customer is in town.”

7.  🥑 Chipotle’s Testing an Avocado-Peeling Robot

Meet the Autocado: a prototype robot that “cuts, cores, and peels avocados” within 26 seconds, according to Chipotle. It’s one of two cobots (collaborative robots) that Chipotle has invested $100M into – the other being an Augmented Makeline, which “uses automated technology to build bowls and salads.”

Bonus. CEO Tip Of The Day

Bill Gates was really ahead of his time when he said, “People often overestimate what will happen in the next two years and underestimate what will happen in ten." What are you underestimating about your future?
