7 things you missed today
Good Evening,
Here are the 7 things you missed today:
1. 🚘 U.K. May Get Driverless Cars By 2026
The U.K.’s Automated Vehicles (AV) Act received royal assent today, the final checkmark to be passed into law. This means fully self-driving vehicles could be introduced in the U.K. within the next two years.
2. 🤔 Is Your Tech Keeping Up With Your Business Goals?*
Is your team struggling with managing tight deadlines, development work backlogs, and a desperate need for code standardization? You're not alone. Zappos, a top e-commerce brand had similar issues.
They wanted custom internal tools for managing human resources, team assignments, budget forecasting and internal invoicing.
When upper management didn't have time to assign these tasks to the internal dev team, they turned to Codingscape. They were able to standardize their codebase, fix numerous bugs, and make performance improvements, all in less time than it would have taken to get approvals internally. They're trusted by brands like Reddit, Twilio and many others too!
3. 💻 Microsoft Announced Copilot PCs
At today’s announcement event, Microsoft debuted “Copilot Plus PCs,” aka Windows laptops with built-in AI hardware and support for AI features across the OS. The new laptops are built with Qualcomm chips and are quoted as being 58% faster than a MacBook Air with M3 and all-day battery life.
4. 🛠 Things To Check Out*

5. 🧵 Meta’s Oversight Board Gets Threads
Meta’s Oversight Board has extended its scope to include Threads, Instagram’s text-based platform. This extension will help Threads with content moderation and user safety, different than X’s crowdsourced fact-checks.
6. 🍤 Red Lobster’s Shrimp Drove Bankruptcy
Seafood chain Red Lobster filed for bankruptcy yesterday. The reason? Last summer, the restaurant made its $20 endless shrimp a permanent menu item instead of an annual limited-time offer (which it kept for 20 years).
7. 💉 Hims & Hers Surged 30% From GLP-1
Digital pharmacy startup Hims & Hers Health announced it will offer compounded GLP-1 weight loss injections, a market historically dominated by Novo Nordisk. The announcement caused company shares to jump more than 30%.
Bonus. CEO Tip Of The Day
Tiger Woods has rebuilt his swing four times throughout his career. Being the best in the world sometimes means returning to the drawing board.
