3. 💬 Reddit Wants to Compete With Google & ChatGPT

Reddit is rolling out a test of its own AI-powered chatbot that can provide answers from Reddit conversations and posts. ‘Reddit Answers’ will respond to users’ questions with summaries of conversations from across the platform, provide links to relevant communities and posts, and make recommendations for follow-up questions. X competitor Bluesky appears to be working on a paid subscription feature. Mockups of the upcoming Bluesky+ subscription – along with a list of possible features including custom app icons, profile customizations, and more – were found published to Bluesky’s GitHub. (TechCrunch)

6. 🖼️ X is Launching A New AI Image Generator

This past Saturday, X quietly added a new image generator to its Grok assistant, then removed it. Now, the feature has been officially announced. The image generator, Aurora, was developed by xAI and is available in select countries through Grok on X and will roll out to all users within a week. (TechCrunch)

7. 🇺🇸 Small Businesses Could Face $10k in Fines For Missing US Reporting Deadline

The US Chamber of Commerce announced a new federal reporting requirement for businesses. The deadline to submit a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report to the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is January 1, 2025. Failure to file or update the info by the deadline could result in up to two years imprisonment and civil penalties of up to $591/day. (Quartz)
