So, maybe Netflix won’t be buying Warner Bros. afterall? Paramount, who was widely expected to be the front runner for Warner Bros. sale, lost out to Netflix who reportedly offered a more lucrative deal. Now, despite Netflix’s announcement, Paramount is going back to WBD shareholders with an offer of $17.6 billion more than the deal they’ve signed with Netflix. (CNN)

Lots of billions being thrown around today. Tech giant IBM is buying data infrastructure company Confluent for $11 billion in cash in a bid to bolster its data and automation products to compete with other tech cloud and AI companies. Confluent’s platform helps enterprises manage streams of data in real time, a high-demand use case for developing and deploying AI products. (TechCrunch)
4. 💬 Claude Code is Coming to Slack
Slackbot is getting a new friend. Anthropic is launching its Claude AI Code in Slack, allowing developers to delegate coding tasks directly from chat threads. The feature is currently available as a beta research and builds on Anthropic’s existing Slack integration by adding full workflow automation. (TechCrunch)
5. 👓 Google is Launching its AI Glasses in 2026
Google Glass, who? The tech company announced it plans to launch the first of its AI-powered glasses in 2026, in a move to compete with Meta and rising AI device companies. Google is collaborating on hardware design with Samsung, Gentle Monster, and Warby Parker. (CNBC)
6. 🛒 You Can Buy Instacart Groceries Through ChatGPT
Goodbye grocery stores. OpenAI and Instacart are launching a grocery shopping experience inside of ChatGPT, allowing customers to brainstorm meal ideas, make a grocery list, and check out, all without leaving the chat interface. The feature expands OpenAI and Instacart’s 2+ year relationship, which includes an in-app AI search tool powered by ChatGPT. (TechCrunch)
7. 🖊️ Are Paper Checks Going Away?
Maybe. With major changes in how the nation pays for goods and services, federal officials are debating the fate of the paper check. Last week, the Federal Reserve called for public input over the next 90 days on “potential strategic changes to check services” including “significantly reducing check services, or alternatively, substantially winding them down.” (Quartz)
