Good evening!

Missed the Twitter blue checkmark? Well, it might be making a comeback with a competitor…

Here are the 7 things you missed today:

1. 🚗 FTC Sued Uber Over Deceptive Uber One Billing

The Federal Trade Commission sued Uber accusing them of violating the FTC Act and the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act by providing misleading information about its Uber One subscription service, failing to provide a way for users to cancel their membership, and charging them without their consent. 2. 📈 Changing the Way the World Sells

The tried-and-true sales tactics we’ve used for so long aren’t working anymore. Salespeople are focusing on their own agenda rather than taking time to understand the buyers’ viewpoint.

A Sales Growth Company utilizes a methodology that transforms selling organizations into helping organizations. Your buyers will feel better knowing their problems are addressed, while you’ll enjoy increased revenue.

5. Bluesky is Launching Blue Check Verification

The rumors are true: Bluesky confirmed that it’s rolling out blue check verification, similar to the format made famous through Twitter/X. Bluesky will work with a few selected “trusted verifiers” to independently verify accounts as members of organizational teams. (TechCrunch)

6. 🤝 Podcaster Erik Torenberg is Joining a16z

VC firm Andreessen Horowitz has acquired Erik Torenberg’s Turpentine podcast and has hired Torenberg as a general partner. Torenberg plans to continue with the podcast, but time will tell if the content moves in a different direction with a16z at the helm. (TechCrunch)

7. 🛒 Sam’s Club is Replacing Checkouts with AI

Big box retailer Sam’s Club announced they’re removing all self-checkout kiosks and traditional checkout lanes from its 600-plus stores. Instead, customers will be required to use its ‘Scan & Go’ app to scan and pay for their items. While the app system launched last April, the latest change adds an AI-enabled check at the exit, instead of the standard receipt checking. (Quartz)
