OpenAI co-founder and former chief scientist Ilya Sutskever left the company in May 2024 and has since founded Safe Superintelligence (SSI), an AI startup. SSI has now raised an additional $2 billion – in addition to its already raised $1 billion – and is now valued at $32 billion. (TechCrunch)
7. 🚙 Hertz Started Notifying Customers of a Major Data Breach
If you’ve rented a car from Hertz between October-December 2024, you might want to check your email. The car rental giant, which also owns the Dollar and Thrifty brands, began notifying customers of a data breach relating to a cyberattack on one of its vendors that resulted in stolen customer personal information and driver’s licenses.
