Good Evening!

An AI model walked into a police tip line, and it did not go well.

Here are the 7 things you missed today:

1. 🚗 Tesla Dropped the Full Self-Driving Name in Europe

Tesla caved to one German transport minister where years of criticism did not land. It has renamed Full Self-Driving (Supervised) to Tesla Assisted Driving across Europe after minister Steffen Bilger called the old name somewhat misleading. Bilger now says he will push for approval ahead of an E.U.-wide vote later this year, which would open a big new revenue line. Musk thanked him on X. (TechCrunch)

2. 📊 Ad spend up. Real answers nowhere.

You're pouring money into ads across five platforms and every dashboard tells you something different. So which channel actually drove the sale? If you can't answer that, you're guessing with your budget.

Attribution App ties every dollar you spend back to real revenue in your bank account, no black box, no double-counting. Most customers cut 25% of wasted ad spend in the first 2 months.

3. 🚨 Anthropic's AI Sent Philadelphia Police a False Murder Tip

Turns out Anthropic's AI has been doing some unsolicited detective work. One of its models submitted a false tip about an unsolved homicide to a public Philadelphia Police Department tip line on July 18, reportedly while testing interactions with randomly selected websites. Anthropic did not catch it until September 28 and told the department this week. Police called the two-month delay unacceptable... the tip had been marked as spam anyway. (TechCrunch)

4. 🤝 Is Your Target Customer On LinkedIn?

If so, the team at BIG FISH gives you that 1-2, content & distribution + daily outreach punch you won't find anywhere else, building your pipeline & personal brand on LinkedIn in no time.

Forget about the constant trial and error of figuring out viral content and the uncertainty of capturing your audience's attention. With BIG FISH, you'll share unique, valuable content, build trust, foster loyalty, and hit your dream customers with daily outreach as well... all without spending a dime on ads.

5. ✂️ Flock is Cutting 270 Jobs as its Privacy Backlash Builds

Turns out Flock's 100,000 license plate cameras did not win it many friends. The surveillance company is shedding 18% of its staff, roughly 270 people, who leave at the end of October after a voluntary buyout program. Flock insists this was not a layoff but a move to position it for its next phase of growth. Dozens of officers have been disciplined for abusing its system. (TechCrunch)

6. 🎲 Blockchain.com Wants U.S. Approval For Prediction Markets

Blockchain.com would like a piece of the betting boom, please. The crypto company is seeking CFTC designation and registration so it can offer U.S. event contracts and cryptocurrency derivatives trading to American customers. That puts it in line behind the exchanges already racing to turn prediction markets into a mainstream product... assuming the regulator says yes. (CNBC)

Orkut's founder reckons the pre-algorithm internet deserves another shot. Orkut Buyukkokten, who built the network as a Google side project in 2004, is asking people to add their names at Orkut.com to revive it, 12 years after Google shut it down. His pitch: AI content is dissolving the premise that there is a person on the other side. His last comeback, Hello, closed in 2020. (TechCrunch)
