Good evening!
Walgreens goes private as Discord considers going public. Maybe it’s just balance restoration?
Here are the 7 things you missed today:
1. ✌️ Amazon’s One Medical CEO Stepped Down
After less than two years, One Medical CEO Trent Green will step down from the Amazon-owned primary care provider. He’s leaving One Medical to be the new CEO of National Research Corp., a health-care analytics and other services provider. Green became CEO in September 2023, roughly six months after Amazon completed its $3.9 billion acquisition of One Medical. (CNBC)

3. 🔒 Walgreens is Going Private in Potential $24Bn Deal
After nearly 100 years of being a publicly traded company, Walgreens is being taken private in a deal valued up to $23.7 billion. This is following a horrible run on the public markets where its market cap has lost billions. Walgreens’ shares have lost nearly 80% of their value over the past five years. (CNN)
4. 3️⃣ Reasons You Need to Start Investing in SEO, Yesterday!
Cut Down on Ad Costs - Without SEO, you'll always be stuck paying for ads. Investing in SEO today means you can attract customers who are already interested in what you ar selling, without constantly spending on ads.
Stay Ahead of the Competition: Your competitors are building up authority with Google while you sit on the sidelines. You are making it significantly harder to beat your competition every single day you are not investing in SEO.
It's SHOCKINGLY More Affordable Than You Think: For just $99/mo, get top-notch SEO that works. You get weekly updates, clear reports, and the freedom to cancel anytime because all plans are month-to-month. Why settle for less when you can have it all without any commitment?
5. 🚀 Amgen is Close to Bringing its Ozempic Competitor to Market
There’s a new kid on the weight-loss drug block. Pharma company Amgen announced that it has begun two late-stage clinical trials for its weight-loss drug MariTide. The new drug rivals competitors like Ozempic and Wegovey as it offers a less-frequent dosing regime: once a month as opposed to weekly. (Quartz)
6. 🎮 Discord Might Go Public Despite Gamers’ Opposition
Gaming platform Discord’s leadership has met with investment bankers over the last few weeks to explore IPO options. They could go public as early as this year, although their plans are tentative and subject to change. Users of the app are concerned that going public would cause a shift in priorities, from user experience to Wall Street returns. (Morning Brew)
7. ✋ Siri’s AI Improvements are on the Backburner
Apple has plans to roll out a supercharged Siri that can take action inside other apps. The launch was originally slotted for spring, but the tech giant announced it is delaying this upgrade until 2026. This could be a risky move for Apple as it could fall behind its competitors in the generative AI space, like OpenAI, Amazon, and Google. (CNBC)
Bonus. CEO Tip Of The Day
I’m sure we’ve all dropped the ball at least once this week on a seemingly unimportant task on our to-do list. But small misses add up fast and can lead to long-term consequences if you’re not careful. Building systems that ensure everyone understands their tasks and deadlines is imperative for avoiding this pitfall.
