Good evening!
In case it’s not incredibly obvious, ‘123456’ is never a good secure password.
Here are the 7 things you missed today:
1. 💼 Indeed & Glassdoor Laid Off 1,300 Workers for AI
Recruit Holdings, the parent company of Indeed and Glassdoor, is cutting about 1,300 jobs across both companies – roughly 6% of their workforce. The cuts target the companies’ research and development as well as “people and sustainability” teams in the U.S. as they shift to embracing artificial intelligence tools. (CBS News)
2. 🙌 The Last CRM You’ll Ever Need
Switching CRMs sucks... but staying with the wrong one costs more. Especially when your CRM charges you more for adding users, contacts, & features!
Well our friends at Unlimited crm make it painless:
✅ Every (non AI) feature, user, & contact... forever
✅ Flat $297/mo month-to-month subscription
✅ Free done-for-you migration
🏆 And: Real humans helping you 24/7, no tickets or bots
It’s a CRM + email, SMS, bookings, automations, tracking, & content generation tool... all wrapped into one!
My favorite part? The free migration and 1-on-1 onboarding.
3. 🏄 OpenAI’s Windsurf Acquisition Fell Apart
OpenAI’s $3 billion deal to acquire viral AI coding startup Windsurf fell apart today. But in a shocking twist, Google DeepMind is now hiring Windsurf CEO Varun Mohan, co-founder Douglas Chen, and some of the startup’s top AI coding talent. That said, Google is not taking a stake in Windsurf and will not have any control over the company. (TechCrunch)
4. 📈 Fully managed, automated, white-hat SEO
Most SEO agencies will charge you $5,000 a month, promise the world, and deliver nothing but a confusing report and disappointment. Ranked is the exact opposite.
These guys are almost too good to be true, but they’re actually amazing. We use them ourselves, and the results speak for themselves:
Real SEO that works — weekly content, site optimization, and quality backlinks
Full transparency — clear deliverables and easy-to-read reports
No BS contracts — all plans are month-to-month, starting at just $99/month
I know what you’re thinking: “$99? Is it a scam?” Nope. Just a team that figured out how to make SEO actually affordable and effective.
5. 🤝 Leadership Enterprise Torch is Acquiring Praxis Labs
AI leadership development platform Praxis Labs has been acquired for an undisclosed amount by leadership and coaching enterprise Torch. Praxis Labs is a small company with fewer than 20 people with clients including Amazon, Google, and eBay. (TechCrunch)
6. 🍔 McDonalds' AI Hiring Bot Exposed Millions of Applicants’ Data to Hackers
Is it really hacking if the password is ‘123456’? This basic security flaw left the personal info of tens of millions of McDonalds’ job applicants vulnerable to hackers on the “McHire” site built by AI software firm Paradox AI. (Wired)
7. 🤷 AI Coding Might Not Speed Up Developers
A new randomized controlled study by the non-profit AI research group METR found that AI-assisted coding tools may actually slow down some developers, especially on complex tasks. Developers spent more time prompting AI and waiting for it to respond rather than actually coding. (TechCrunch)
