Remember when AWS went down mid-December? It was apparently friendly fire. Amazon’s cloud unit suffered at least two outages, one a 13-hour interruption, due to errors involving its own AI tools. The long outing occurred after engineers allowed its Kiro AI coding tool to make certain changes (ArsTechnica)
7. 🤠 Texas Could Soon Be the World’s Biggest Data Center Market
Everything’s bigger in Texas and that now includes raw energy. A new report from JLL says Texas could overtake Northern Virginia and become the world’s largest data center market by 2030. Texas has 6.5 GW of capacity under construction due to its strength as a “frontier market” with power, land, and a clear path to permits. (Quartz)
